The June 2013 conference

The Publishing: Evolution, Disruption & the Future conference was held in the University of Edinburgh Business School on 12th June 2013 and it was a huge success. The conference attracted over 200 delegates, in addition to several more people who watched live online! We are already preparing for the June 2014 conference which is set to be just as amazing! Speakers from the June 2013 Conference

Cameron Neylon

Cameron is a recovering academic in the general area of biophysics and structural biology interested in how to make research and scholarship more effective and efficient using the capabilities provided by the Web and Internet. He is Advocacy Director for the Public Library of Science (PLOS), nonprofit publisher, membership, and advocacy organization with a mission to accelerate progress in science and medicine by leading a transformation in research communication.

Tom Pollard

Tom is Co-Founder of Ubiquity Press and a PhD student on an interdisciplinary project between University College Hospital and the Mullard Space Science Laboratory. His research interest is in how critical care data can be better managed, shared, and analysed for the benefit of patients. Ubiquity Press is a researcher-led publishing company specialising in open access to academic journals, books, and data.

Andrew Price

As a freelance writer, Andrew's work has appeared in The Atlantic, Fast Company, and other publications. He is managing editor emeritus of GOOD Magazine and was an early employee at The Huffington Post. He holds an A.B. in philosophy from Harvard University and is currently working towards an MSc in informatics at the University of Edinburgh.
